time capsule wont back up anything

I had issues with my mac and icloud not having enough space for what ever reason. I spent $300 on a new airport time capsule that is supposed to back up all my devices wirelessly and it isnt working for any of my 9 apple devices. The reason I bought the thing is to free up space on my devices and now not only am i locked put of icloud and cant recive emails, I can no longer down load anything including new software. 😠
