Ipad 3rd generation, are there any recalls on this device?

I have an Ipad 3rd generation. It will not charge. went to the apple store, they ran diagnostic and said battery was fine, reset everything, said the firmware was fine. Thinks the problem is in the charge port or wire going to battery. Is this a common issue or problem anyone else has had?
