Q: where is the option key

On many keyboards it is also called alt.

⌥ This the symbol.   Please could you find a moment to fill in your profile so that we can see details of your machine and OS and RAM etc.   A loose idea of your location would also be helpful.

Bottom left & bottom right of keyboard.  It is the middle key right inbetween "control" & "command" keys.

You're after me with you floating pen again   The OP hasn't mentioned his location so we can only guess which keyboard he / she has.

I just switched this am from my old G5 iMac keyboard to the new keyboard that came w/my new iMac (finally purchased a keyboard cover).  Some of the keys have been switched around.  Still getting use to it.
