Alpine & Ipod

Hello, I own an Alpine CDA-9855 car stereo and just had my iPod connected to it through the KCA-420i Interface Adapter. My problem is, when I leave my iPod connected to the adapter and shut my truck off it still has the Alpine logo on the iPod. Now this wouldn't be a problem if the iPod shut off after awhile, but it doesn’t, and my iPod battery gets sucked dry. Is there anyway to set the iPod to "auto-shutoff" or some option like this when connected to an Alpine deck? I know I can just disconnect it, but I basically use the iPod just for my car stereo. Thanks.

I know its a little late, but I actually think i just figured out how to make your ipod turn off while its still connected to the Alpine Ipod adapter.

I recently got a new ipod video, so I decided to permanently install my 15gb ipod in my car. the Alpine adapter kept the ipod on and drained the battery overnight.

I just tried using the head unit to pause the ipod before turning the car off and after leaving the ipod alone for a few minutes it has turned itself off.

I installed it in an out of the way place so it was a pain to keep unplugging it when I was going to be parked somewhere for a long period of time. Hopefully this pause thing works.
