Q: Airport Express... unable to join network. "An unexpected error occurred. Try again."

My Airport Express (2012) fell off my network.  I performed a factory reset; Airport Utility (6.3.2) finds the Airport Express. But it is unable to join; always indicating "An unexpected error occurred. Try again."

What do I need to do to fix this?

AirPort Express, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Your profile indicates that you are using Lion (10.7.4), but the information in your post indicates that you are likely using Mavericks....since this is a common bug with (10.9).

If that is the case, try restart your Mac, then temporarily connect an Ethernet cable from your Mac to the LAN <-> port on the Express to see if AirPort Utility can see the Express that way.

If it can, keep the Ethernet cable connected until the settings have been updated on the Express, then disconnect the Ethernet cable.

After reading many other threads that were Lion / Mountain Lion related, this helped me resolve the same issue in Mavericks -- thank you.
