iPod doesn't start properly, but goes directly into disk mode

When I start my iPod (6th generation) I cannot reach the normal menu, but it goes directly into disk mode which I cannot leave. Everytime I reset it, it does the same.

Another problem is, that it doesn't charge when it's in this mode.

Can anyone help me?

To return iPod to its normal operating state, reset it.

If resetting the iPod does not work, you may need to restore the device.
