Dec 4, 2013 10:12 AM in response to Jennbabyby GeekBoy.from.Illinois,I have noticed that if you don't hold the iPhone close enough to your ear, the proximity sensor will not detect your face, and it will not turn the screen off. When this happens, it is possible to "cheek dial" and have your cheek hit the mute button. It is possible that this is what is happening to you. You could chech this by looking in a mirror while you talk on the phone. If the screen is lighting up, then this is likely the cause.
