Mac won't start?!

I recently updated my MacBook Pro and had to do a restart after. It seemed to be going fine un till the grey screen with Apple logo at the beginning. It has white writing with a black highlight behind. All keys don't work but I can turn on and off by the button. I need my mac please help!!
