I found the following information about features from iWork '09 that are not available in the new version that might help:
In rewriting these applications, some features from iWork ’09 were not available for the initial release. We plan to reintroduce some of these features in the next few releases and will continue to add brand new features on an ongoing basis.

Could you be more specific as to what you want to achieve. As far as I can tell, there's no difference in the behavior of the key combinations you mentioned, but I may not be using them in the same context you are.

That list says nothing much, except that there is nothing much planned for at least 6 months. Everything else doesn't even rate mentioning.
FCPX is into its 3rd year now, with a longish list of missing key features still MIA.
