On my brand new iPod touch 5th generation, when I tap near the camera on the top of the iPod, there is a weird rattling sound. It has never been dropped, and I've only had it for a week. Is this normal?
iPod touch, iOS 7.0.4, It is when you tap near the camera.
On the 5G iPod and iPhone 5 the rear camera lens moves to focus and is lightly suspended so it can move. The noise you hear may be the lens moving. It is normal and expected.
If concerned, Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
