Broken Home Button
My home button on my iPod touch 4th gen broke, and I'm sending it in for repair. Why do I have to sync and backup my iPod, then delete everything off of my iPod?

Do the part of this that pertains to the old iPod.
iOS: Transferring information from your current iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device
Then go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings
