"Unable to sign in because of a problem communicating with iCloud."

Just got my hard drive replaced, and suddenly I can't sign into iCloud anywhere: it says "Unable to sign in because of a problem communicating with iCloud." From browsing forums, this seems to be something that often happens to people after a hardware replacement.

Just to reiterate, Apple ID itself is fine--I'm using it on my iPad and iPhone, my password is right, etc. There are no files anywhere on my hard drive, including in my "hidden library," related to iCloud. I have yet to see anyone get a resolution to this.

Any ideas?
