spinnign ball when wireless signal drops

Recently when the wireless loses a good signal from router, or when wi-fi drops there is a spinning ball in any kind of opened program. The computer stops completely and I have to force a turn-off pressing the turn-off button for several second.

Somethimes the machine doesn't start again apearing a blinking folder with a question mark.

Does anybody know what coud be?
