Dec 3, 2013 2:23 PM in response to Artdesignby BDAqua,Well,
I think your best bet would be to enable screen Sharing on the G5, then control it from the MacBook, basically running the G5 from the MB.
Only trouble is I'm not sure the G5 will boot without a Monitor connected.

Dec 4, 2013 5:43 AM in response to Artdesignby a brody,It would be easier to hookup both MacBook Pro and PowerMac to a DVI A/B switch and an LCD display, placing the MacBook Pro on the top of the Powermac G5's top surface, and closing its lid. You just need the proper video adapter to DVI for the MacBook Pro. If we know the MacBook Pro x,y model you have in your system profiler and its x,y values, we can tell you what adapters to get.
The PowerMac should have DVI compatible video card.

Dec 4, 2013 6:44 AM in response to a brodyby Artdesign,I do not want a third element like a LCD dispaly, this is what I have at the moment. I want to eliminate excess equipment, which is why it would be great if the rarely used G5 Tiger could use the MacBook Pro (about 6 years old) as its screen just occasionally when I need to access old Powermac programs.

Dec 4, 2013 6:58 AM in response to Artdesignby a brody,https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6351 offers some solutions, but many don't work between PowerPC and Intel. You'll have to try each and see what may work.
