Updated but won't show as updated and notification badge won't go away.

I have tried to install this update several times and in in the App Store history is shows to have updated mulitple times. However, the Mac App Store still shows a notification icon and the update as needing to be installed even though it shows installed over a dozen times. This is very frustrating.

Any thoughts on how to rectify this?
