Calendar Accounts have all disappeared

EDIT: restarting my computer restored everything, surprise surprise!

Dear all,

I'm quite a heavy iCloud user in syncing my calendar usage between my computer, phone, and sharing this with my partners phone. Last night when opening the calendar on my macbook (retina, purchased early 2013) a box appeared in the top of the app and said "updating" (with the Cal logo). I thought nothing of this, even though it did take a few minutes and locked the calendar usage while doing so.

This morning when switching on my beautiful mac I have been greeted with a crystal clear, blank, calendar, and again with the updating box. I've taken a screenshot as you can see here:

User uploaded fileUpon looking at the accounts, it appears everything has been deleted. I've then gone straight to my iPhone and checked the calendar, however everything is 100% normal on this front, so it appears as though it is a macbook problem only. So this is where it gets weird. You'd obviously assume that everything has been saved fine on the cloud, and I just have to add all my accounts again! A little hassle, but nothing 10 minutes of clicking and sorting won't fix! So, to do this, I've gone into System Preferences -> Internet Accounts, and been greeted with the message "Loading Internet Accounts" a la this screenshot:

Ok, so it's not letting me load Internet Accounts. This would explain why the Calendar has forgotten all my accounts (both iCloud and google calendar accounts btw). So, thinking of another way I could try and access these accounts, I have alsy tried from teh Calendar app. Calendar -> Preferences -> Accounts looks like this:

User uploaded fileI am able to click the + button, and attempt to add an account. When I enter in all the details and click ok, it takes me back to this blank screen together with the rainbow thinking wheel (although I do love rainbows, not the rainbow i wanted to see!)

Hopefully there is someone here who might be able to send some thoughtful suggestions my way 🙂 If I have any luck either a) retrieving my saved accounts or b) being allowed to add new accounts, I'll post here straight away.

Kindest regards all!

A simple restart fixed everything, how naïve of me! Hopefully if there is anyone else with this problem, they'll have the same luck as me 🙂 Happy Wednesday all!

Have your email accounts loaded in Mail (esp. your iCloud acct), or is it just Calendar that's not loading?

Have you tried restarting your computer?

Have you tried logging out of iCloud and then back in System Preferences > iCloud?
