Passcode troubles

I recently bought the new Iphone 5s and have a deliema. I forgot my passcode and havent gotten the chance to hook my phone to my laptop. it says i need to enter my passcode first but dont know it. What can i do?

Connect it to iTunes on your computer and do a Restore using Recovery Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.

I have tried but since I've never plugged into my laptop before with my new phone it is saying that i need to enter my pass code on phone and unlock it first

Follow the instructions CAREFULLY and it won't ask for a passcode.
