Whatsapp icon missing

my Whatsapp icon is missing in the phone. at first, I thought I had accidentally deleted it. but when I went to the App Store to try download it again, I couldn't as it showed 'open'. so I assume that's because the app is still in the phone ? but I can't open the app either. so I can't delete it & download it again because it's missing from the screen. how do I get it back ? or is there any other way for me to delete the Whatsapp app & download it again? please help. I desperately need Whatsapp again. thank you.

iPhone 4S, iOS 7

Open Spotlight on your iPhone by scrolling down on your home screen starting below the top.

Type "Whatsapp" in the search bar. It will take you there.

Try re-download using iPhone App Store app > Updates > Purchased > here.

the icon doesnt show there....

but if I want to purchase it, it states OPEN, when I click on that nothing happens!

I have exactly the same problem, the 'open' button in both 'purchased' and the App Store item doesn't do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Reset you iPhone.

Hold both Power and Home buttons together for 15 seconds approximately until the Apple logo appears. Then let go of the buttons and wait for the iPhone to restart.

This should solve your problems and missing apps should be there again,
