Hi m,
The recovery option will reinstall the newest OS on it, in this case Mav.
Hi m,

There is a "Startup from bootable CD" option available. Will this solve my problem, if I use the Snow Leopard CD and choose to startup from the CD?
To install Snow Leopard you will have to use the original installation CD or if the MBP came with an OSX that is older than Snow Leopard, the you will have to use a Snow Leopard retail disk.
Ciao.
I do have the Snow Leopard CD that came along with my MBP. So I guess using this CD & selecting the startup disk as the CD drive should work.
Thanks guys!
After booting with the Snow Leopard DVD you should run Disk Utility and repartition the drive to get rid of the Mavericks recovery partition. If at a later date you decide to give Mavericks another try the Mvx installer will recreate the recovery partition.
