Works fine until you hit the lock screen

So my iPod 2 gen just started doing this recently where it starters up with the apple screen and works fine all the way until you go to unlock screen where if you let it locks its self it will go to this like white screen. I've tried backing it up restoring and recovery mode with no success other then getting it to work for 2 minutes until it locked its self and went to this white screen. It's IOS is 4.2.1 which doesn't seem to be on the IOS list given also its 16 gigs and has no cracks or dents on it so this rules out it being from drops or a cracked screen.

NOTE: additional details: the iPod wile in the white screen can be heard to unlock when sliding where the slider is like its working but the screen is not showing it. Also after restoring the device the screen will work flawlessly getting throw the lock screen and even letting me download and app but the seconds I got to lock it it goes to the white screen that I have been talking about and stays there till I restore it again where the same steps repeat them selfs it works fine until its locked and then after its locked complete white screen.

Any helpful help to getting this fixed would be great right now since this has not happened before to me.
