Q: I need to free up space on my MacBook Pro.

I need to free up space on my MacBook Pro HD. How can I safely delete all "iTunes Matched" files stored in the iCloud from my hard drive and only download them as needed at a later date?

MacBook Pro, iOS 7.0.4

    Welcome to the Apple Community.

     

    I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you have backed up the content first, which you could do to an external drive, if you have one.

     

    The problem with doing that which you suggest, is that on rare occasions, content is removed from the iTunes Store and if this occurs you will no longer be able to download it.
