Adding HP Deskjet 3050 to my new MacbookAir

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems setting up your Deskjet 3050 printer on your new Macbook Air.

I have included the link to the full feature software and driver for Mac OS X 10.7 which you will need when you follow the detailed steps in the document on installing the printer for a wireless network. If you have decided not to install the wirelessly I've also included the link to the document on installing your printer using a USB connection. I do recommend that you download the driver before starting the installation process.

As a final choice, I have included a link to the HP Support Forums with a post by Jon-W. I know you are using a Macbook, instead of a Chromebox but the steps are still valid.

You can disconnect from printer & download the installation software while connected to the internet. I've not set up an HP wireless printer in some time but if I remember correctly it wasn't necessary for me to put the printer into Setup Mode. Setup Mode is what allowed you to log onto the printer with WiFi and it allows you to manually configure the printer.

I hope u have better luck than I did. when I first hooked it up all was fine, then all of a sudden it quick working not only with my mac air but my husbands windows 7. I gave up and bought a new one,gave it to my father and it wouldn't even work with a desktop. I upgraded the software just like it said. I can't say what happen to it, but I lost patients with it.
