Dec 4, 2013 5:45 AM in response to mcdouglas09by Limnos,★HelpfulYou're using the term "match" but I don't think you're using iTunes Match are you (it gets confusing when the same terms is used)? Do you mean sync, as in transfer from iTunes to the iPad? If you do, are the missing songs in the iTunes library (do you see them in iTunes)? If they are not, iTunes will only sync what you have selected and what is in its library, it won't hunt down random music files scattered about a computer. If they are in the iTunes library, what syncing preferences are you using? You may be syncing just one playlist and those tracks aren't in it.

Dec 4, 2013 5:55 AM in response to Limnosby mcdouglas09,Hi Limnos,
Thanks for the response. When I say "match" i mean iTunes Match, yes. It has synced all of my playlists, but only about half of the songs from each playlist are accessible from my iPad. Many still have the dotted cloud symblo next to them on my iMac. As you mentioned, maybe this is because they are only on my hard drive? I tried to sync everything, but a bunch didnt make it over to my iPad. Does iTunes Match have the ability to access songs from your hard drive or ONLY songs from the iTunes store?
Thanks again.

Dec 4, 2013 6:08 AM in response to mcdouglas09by Limnos,★HelpfulI don't have Match but my understanding is it will look at your songs. If it finds a match in the store and your track is eligible (e.g., above a certain bitrate so you aren't just trying to match some store's demonstration version) it will use the Store version, upgrading your version if it is only a slightly lower bitrate. If it doesn't see a match it will use your version (though I believe it will downgrade lossless files; again I don't have it so I am not up to date on details).
I guess one thing is it takes time to Match a large library, especially if you have a lot of unique material that the Store doesn't sell. That dotted line business sounds like iTunes is still processing files. I've see other dotted line discussions in the context of files that have not fully downloaded, or iTunes syncing needing to be turned off and then on again for some inexplicable reason to get it to work..

Dec 4, 2013 7:10 AM in response to Limnosby mcdouglas09,Alright, thanks again Limnos. I think the issue may be that the songs I have are not available in the store and/or a bitrate issue.
I will check some of my settings once I am home.
Have a good day!
