Problem with files on SMB share file server

We have a Marketing SMB file server set up here where all our designers store their stuff, so they often have files from the server open in InDesign or Illustrator. The issue they're having happens when waking the computer up. For some reason it seems as though the server doesn't automatically reconnect upon wake up, so the apps, like InDesign, often freeze up and we have to force quit them.

Any idea how I can get my SMB file server to reconnect automatically upon restart or wake up?
