Using Safari 7.0 on my Mac 10.9 and wonder how I change the bookmarks to show across the top like my previous Google. Now, I have to unhide them and they show on the left - want them running across the top. Any ideas?

It's there, all right, unless the bar is already shown, in which case you'll see Hide Favorites Bar in the View menu.
I found it but my bookmarks are not there - just Bonjour, News and Popular. I was using igoogle and when it was discontinued Nov 1st, I imported the settings to Safari, after resetting the settings.
Under Bookmarks, there is an option to show them and they pop up on a sidebar.
Any ideas?

Drag a link from a web page, or a bookmark or folder from the bookmark list, to the Favorites bar. You can also drag it to the collection named "Favorites Bar" at the top of the bookmark list, if that's easier for you.
if I drag the folder marked "imported from Safari" would that work or do I have to move each of the bookmarks?

As I wrote above, you can drag either individual bookmarks or bookmark folders. If you drag a folder, you'll get a pulldown menu with the contents of that folder. Try it and see what happens.
