Mavericks battery issues

Hi all together,

since I upgraded to Mavericks I suffer from battery draining issues as many other people reported here in the forums.

The reason why I am starting a new thread is that several moderators of this forum want us to start a new one if we think it has something to do with Mavericks.

Now the facts:

I got a MBP Retina 15" Early 2013 which was running more than 9 hours with Mountain Lion.

After upgrading to Mavericks the running time dropped to 4 - 4,5 hours!

I waited for several days (waiting for spotlight to finish etc.) but nothing changed.

After that I did a clean install, waited for some more days and now I'm writing to you as nothing changed with the running time as well (still just 4 - 4,5 hours).

The system profile tells me that my battery life is good so I don't think that it is damaged.

It seems that it has something to do with Mavericks itself as I suffered from battery draining right after upgrading without installing any other software.

With ML and my installed software everything was fine!

I tried SMC, NVRAM etc. resets but nothing helped so far.

Do you gut any idea what else I could try or do you got the same problem?

Greetings from Germany!

There may not be any problem with Tuxera. If you are experiencing problems and have software installed that is a likely cause, then uninstalling it is the fastest way to identify what is cause the problem. If you don't have any 3rd party system modifications that could be running (or failing) constantly, then you might have a hardware issue. You won't know until those system modifications are out of the picture.

The old applications section is more a warning to the user. Those are applications that are likely to exhibit problems. If you are running them constantly, they might be the source of the current problem. Otherwise, they will just be a problem for a later time.
