Trying to download books.
iPod touch, iOS 6.1.5, 5th generation
A 5G iPod can go to iOS 7. I think you have a 4G iPod since those can only go to 6.1.5 and that does not support iBooks.
There is no way to get iBooks for a 4G unless you previously purchased the app.
Is it possible he has a 5G, but hasn't upgraded the iOS?
"There is no way to get iBooks for a 4G unless you previously purchased the app" is a bit misleading, since although you have to have purchased iBooks previous to installing an older version, that purchase can happen subsequent to right now. You are correct now but when the post was originally written what I said was true.

I have an iPod touch 5th gen, which does not support ibooks. Is there another app I can use?
