macbook air with water damage

so there is a macbook air for sale for 10$ the person selling it says it has experienced some water damage but will still run. the only issue is that the screen will not turn on. is this worth looking into? or should I forget about it?

Do not get it. A water damaged Mac may have damaged near everything, from the display (which you said it does not work) from the logic board. In the case of a MacBook Air, the cost of the repair will be the cost of a new MacBook Air, so it is worth buying a new Mac.


Also, it is dangerous to use it because you do not know what will happen if it fails

If it is 10$ and not stolen, it is very much worth it, get it


parts alone are worth a lot


water damaged Macbook Air (depending on extent) are worth a 'lot' for independent parts

Yes, that means you should get it, the SSD, the IO board, many parts are worth alone much much more than $10
