You will need to purchase the disk as System 7.1and beyond cost money except for Mavericks OS X 10.9 which is free again. Some links to sources are below.

It is possible to download a complete System 7.5.3 from Apple:
http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html#system
(nineteen files, look for System_7.5.3_01of19.smi.bin and the next eighteen)
These files are not "normal" Disk Copy 4.2-style disk images, and can thus not be handled by a Windows utility such as WinImage. However, it is possible to transfer (plain copy) the individual files on 1.44 MB floppy disks.
The transfer to an old Macintosh computer must normally take place on Macintosh-formatted 1.44 MB floppy disks. A utility such as TransMac on a Windows PC can handle Mac-formatted disks.
If the old Macintosh computer is running System 7.1, you may have an Apple File Exchange program (look for it in a folder on the Tidbits system disk). That application would allow transfers on PC-formatted floppies as well. The same is true if the receiving Mac has an operating system with an installed and active PC Exchange control panel.
Please note that the idea is to place the nineteen files (decoded by Stuffit Expander on the old Mac) in a common folder on the hard disk. The nineteen decoded files (one .smi and eighteen .part) constitute one single large disk image. In order to mount the image, one would double-click on the first file (.smi). The System 7.5.3 installer will be found inside the mounted image. All this would require a working and suitable operating system on the Macintosh computer's hard disk to begin with. See also:
