Further to Thomas's reply (which is correct) - ARD Client is built in to all recent versions of OSX, there is then the additional ARD Admin app which you get from the App Store (or previously as a boxed App).

ARD Client allows for VNC connections from other systems, ARD admin has facilities over and above that.
