Can't open messages on OSX Mav. "messages quit unexpectedly" keeps popping up. However, when people text me, I can see the text on the top right of the screen and even respond on that same window. Help?

Thanks for responding. My email works fine, and in the account, I have messages checked. The issue is the the Messages app (Texting). With the old OS I was able to text people with my Mac. Now I just get this error. I tried signing out and closing it, but now I can't even open it to sign back in. Thoughts?

No, still have the same issure. It's nothing to do with the email... Just the messages app (texting)
I tried to reinstall OSX Mav but now the app is open and and when people text me it appears on the top right. But if I try to open the app I get the same message. So it kind of works but not...
I tried fixing it and it ended up just messing up all of my apple apps like iPhoto, Notes, Contacts, iTunes, and the App store.. I realized these apps worked with my guest account, so I copied all my files to a hard drive, and made a new account, set it to administrator and deleted my old account. It might take a while, but if push comes to shove, you can always do that as your last choice (also depends on how much you want to be able to Message from your laptop... )
I have the same problem as you. Also if I try to log into my e-mail connected to my iCloud on the mail app it says there is a problem with the iCloud settings or something and I can't log in. This is a very strange problem, especially because it happened on both my computers....
