Q: macbook to tv

After I plug my mini display port male to hdmi male to macbook and tv.  What do I go into on my macbook to throw it up on my tv screen?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

    Hi donna,

     

    If you have the proper input selected on the TV, nothing. Try the different HDMI inputs on your TV and see if it shows up. The only video setting on your MBP you have to be concerned with is mirror displays or extended desktop (I think you'll want mirror). Note that if you have an older MBP, you'll not get sound through the MDP to HDMI.
