Mavericks: Delay in opening files after restart or sleep.

Hi,

I have an Early 2003 MacBook Pro with 8GB of RAM and SSD Drive. I installed Mavericks from scratch twice and this problem persists.

After my machine goes to sleep or rebooted, when opening MACINTOSH HD, it takes about 15 seconds to show the files within that folder. That delay is really starting to annoy me and I have done a restore from factory twice and the problem persists.

Is this happening to you? How do I fix it?

John-

The first sentence in your email is puzzling to me. This discussion IS about the delays in using Mavericks OS

so why would I need to start another Discussion?

I am completely disgusted and frustratred with Apple's response (non-response) to this problem.

It is disillusioning to see such poor work and really drops my opinion Apple and it's products.
