HI all

client has just provided me with a dozen DVD's with CCT footage on them and they are all in a .gbf format,

GEUTEBRÜCK Backup-Format

http://www.geutebrueck.com/

I am trying to contact them re converting the vision to an editing codec but have not yet heard back from them, has anyone come across this file format before and have a workflow.

Cheers

wow, that's what I call 'proprietary'!!

… I like to use the well-informed site www.endungen.de to 'translate' suffices into human info - even them haven't never ever heard of a 'gbf' file.

I think, you're only option is waiting for any response from that company.

    Their website says:

    http://www.geutebrueck.com/index.php?Culture=de_DE&PageId=17379

    quote/google translation:

GBF - GEUTEBRUCK Backup File Format

    GEUTEBRUCK Backup File Format

Proprietary data format for multiple cameras, including audio and event data. Generates a copy of the original database and provides all GSCView-specific evaluation and search functions. Highly tamper-proof, password protection possible.

sooo - a back-up format, multiple cams, probably pw-protected… I dare to say: of no use for video making.....

But wait and see, how the company can help you.-
