My ipod won't turn on and my home button doesn't work.

I have a 4th gen 32GB ipod touch. I was sitting on my couch and right after I sent a messege it just shut off and wouldn't turn back on! So on top of my home button being broken iTunes doesn't read it and the ipod won't charge....WHAT DO I DO!?!?!?!?

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

When it says place the iPod in recovery mode,

Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

For PC

RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode

If necessary:

Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot

and

RecBoot tip

For MAC or PC

The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Everyone, I have the same issue and i have the SOLUTION

I also have a broken home button and it never seems to turn on no matter how many times I click on the power button or charging it. For those who are reading IIIaass's answer but cannot follow his steps due to your home button please listen to me. Watch this video, it might sound crazy but it worked!! Freezing your ipod/iphone drains the battery and plugging it back in afterwards seems to bring it back to life. Spread the word!!
