Reinstalling the application doesn't work, it is updated, and I have rebooted router and internet. I even did a hard factory reset on the router.. Although when I use my phone as a hot spot my facebook works perfectly... Any ideas??

Close app by double-tapping the home button, then swiping upward on the app window (not the smaller icon) off the screen.
Then reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.
Don't understand what you mean by "refresh mode?"
it means it stuck attempting to refresh my news feed.... it hasn't updated the news feed since yesterday at 8pm.
Already done that... Uninstalled and reinstalled.. Rebooted my IPAD.. Hard factory reset on my router.. Done all the basic stuff.....
How's your connection? The only other thing I can think of is to log out of FB and log back in (after a reset).
Facebook stuck in refresh mode..
