Can I have the brand-new fifth-generation I pod added to my cellular data plan that I have for my iPad so that it can use the Wi-Fi and how do I do it

    iPods do not have their own cellular connection. If your mobile operator supports it, you can turn on the Personal Hotspot on your iPad in Settings > Personal Hotspot and connect your iPod touch to that for Internet access.

    Along with what Alfred said, you do not need a cellular data plan to use wifi - your iPod Touch will connect to wifi nodes just fine straight out of the box.

     

    You only need a cellular data plan for a cellular-capable device (which an iPad is not) and you do NOT want to use wifi to connect to the internet.
