I just got my macbook air and i thought i'd set up my email but it is not working and I do not understand anything on the website. I have a gmail account if that helps.

In Mail, select Mail->Preferences, then click "Accounts", click [+] in the lower left corner, then select "Google" for a Google iMap accout. If you want a Google Pop account, select "Add Another email account", click [Continue] enter the required info, then hold the option key and click [Next]
