Diagnostic test results is Memory slot:DIMM1/J22 empty

I'm getting the following results when I run my diagnostics test from the System Profiler:

Power On Self-Test:

Last Run: 11/17/13 10:41 PM

Result: Failed

Failure type: Memory

Memory slot: DIMM1/J22

DIMM1/J22:

Size: Empty

Type: Empty

Speed: Empty

Status: Empty

There is a 512 module of DDR SDRAM PC2600U-25330 in this slot. There should be 1.5 of RAM onboard, however, the About This Mac:indicates that there is only 1MB onboard. Does that mean that the module has faiied/died?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.4.11), G4, 500 MHz DP, "Gigabit Ethernet"

however, I'm not clear about your response. Also, there are several added items that have become apparent"

1) there is a module in all 4 slots,

2) the About this Mac says there is 1.25 MB of RAM and reinterated by the test results.

As to your comment:Try one stick at a time in each slot.

All 4 slot have a stick of RAM, 10 am I testing if one of the sticks are bad or 2) am I trying to see if a slot is bad or 3) fill in the blank?

Thanks, if there's anything else that you need, just ask

OK, try 2 in different slots & orders, then try the other 2 in different slots/orders... see if we get any new info.

Could be a bad slot or a bad stick or two, I've had 2 G4s that wouldn't work with identical DIMMs in a certain order, but swap them & they worked... not sure it wasn't just corrosion on the pins, or some connection on the logic board.

If you leave J22 empty does it work OK?
