Which game controllers are compatible with Macbook Pro?

Basically, I am curious to know what game controllers I can use to play games on my Macbook Pro, besides the newest "Dualshock 4" controller? Is the older version of Dualshock controllers compatible with Macbook Pro or just simply the latest model? All answers are appreciated.
