Why can't I burn my music on my blank CD?

I have been trying to burn a play list on a CD-R which is blank (never used) and every time I put it in the disk tray and the click my playlist to burn to CD, Itunes kicks the CD out stating that it's used, when it's not.

What can I do to correct this?

Thank you,

This doesn't help.

What happens is that I put in a brand new disk that has never been used and when I try to burn my playlist on the CD, my computer kicks out the disk and I get an error message from iTunes that the disk is not empty or something to the point of telling me that the disk that I'm trying to use has stuff on it when in fact I am using a brand new disk.

How can I download my playlists on a CD that is blank and/or brand new?
