How to turn off 3G on iphone 5s

My carrier did the same and the only solution was a new carrier setting update. The 3G switch came back and battery life is better than ever. Unfortunately it is up to them. If you CAN'T wait, then there's always this solution: back up your phone on iTunes, restore it to factory settings, disable "use cellular data" to settings. DON'T accept any carrier settings updates and restore your back up. The 3G button should be back, but some functions may not be available without the carrier settings update. Hope it helps.

As I understood it, the "Enable 3G" switch is changed to "Enable 4G" after the carrier settings update. If you turn it off, 3G will still be on, no way to turn it off, unless you turn "enable cellular data" off. But then you won't have cellular data at all, no 2G/Edge option.

That option is there at the descretion of your carrier. Complain to your carrier about it. Apple did not remove the switch. They gave the carriers the option of removing the switch. Those that are doing so are doing so because they are in the process of shutting down their EDGE networks entirely. That means if you have 3G disabled and wander into an area where they have shut down EDGE, you will get no service at all.

If there is no 3G service available, the phone will automatically attempt to fallback to EDGE. The fact that it can't means that there is no EDGE network where you are any more (which is why the carrier removed the option to turn off 3G to begin with).

Call the carrier again. If they can't provide sufficient coverage for your needs, then switch to a carrier that can.

Head to Settings > Cellular > "Enable 3G".

If it has been enabled, just turn it off.

Hi guys even i do need that disable 3G option back in my iphone 5S.

3G Coverage is to low in india and the battery is draining ..

did u guys found the solution for this??? Help me out please..

enable LTE is of no use in india as of now as wr dont even have better services in 3G ..

i am facing huge call drops and call failures due to low 3G coverage..

kindly help me out to get back my disable 3G in iphone 5s

i had already complained my carrier about this issue.

I agree to your point but now i am in a situation which is totally vice versa to your comment.

As of now i am facing no service in 3G network in most of the places and i atleast couldnt get the 2G edge services in that places because of no switch between 3G AND 2G in my iphone 5s..

Any solution to this ????please..
