Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Purchased an i7, 27" iMac with 8GB Ram (4GBx2). Have not received the iMac as yet, still being shipped to local retail store. I am having second thoughts about increasing the Ram. Can I mix the Ram - original (4GBx2) and additional (8GBx2) and use all four(4) SO-DIMMs? I realize the specs of the Ram must be the same.

You can mix RAM sizes without any problem to have 24 GB of RAM. You will keep Dual Channel and you will have more RAM to run more applications.

Por favor Mende1, lo siento, pero, are you sure. The link you sent me states "You can use 4 GB or 8 GB SDRAM SO-DIMMs of 1600 MHz DDR3 memory in each slot." Doesn't say specifically that different sizes of Ram can be used together, without degrading system performance. Mi esposa es de Zaragoza.
I am sure. This is applied to all Intel-based iMacs, including the Late 2013 iMac.

You should not have any problem with the RAM you bought. Just make sure you buy RAM that meets your iMac specifications > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5908
