Q: new documents not opening
I have the newest version of Pages installed. Created a document three days ago. Edited yesterday. Today I am getting a dialog box that says i need a newer version of Pages to open the document. When I go to App Store to get this "newer version" i am told I already have the app installed. When I Search for "updates" I am told there are no updates available. Luckily I saved this document as a WORD document as well BUTTTT it is read only. Before this newest version of Pages, I could edit in both the PAges version and in the WORD versions of the same document. HELP

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you updated Pages, the old Pages version was kept, so it looks like you are opening the old Pages version by mistake.
To fix this, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the Finder sidebar and you should find the new Pages version (the one with the new Pages icon). To make sure you always open it, drag the icon to the Dock, press it and open the document.
Another thing you can do is to delete the old Pages version, but I recommend you to keep it in case you need it. Users have complained about the lack of features of the new version > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6049?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
