iCal stops sharing

In iCal I added a calendar for my user group. Many of the club members subscribed to that calendar. Twice now at least one of the club members has lost his subscription. Here is his report: "I just had a notice flash that said that ... calendar "no longer shared". I checked my calendar and there was nothing about ... on my calendar. What gives -- what has happened????"

I had not changed anything on that particular calendar in a couple of weeks. AFAIK there was no problem with iCal at my end of the process.

Has iCloud had trouble maintaining subscriptions to iCal calendars?

Update. A second club member reports that iCal unsubscribed him, too. I then sent new invitations to both members. The second club member re-subscribed, apparently with ease. But the first club member still cannot. Here is what his iCal tells him:

Why would my iCal refuse to share with one, but not all, of the people whom I have invited to share?

Starting a reorganisation of my calendars with mavericks and splitting it from two to four icloud accounts, it was not possible to subscripe one email address to two calendars. I tried this several time and received allways "no longer shared".

I could solve this by using a different email address for the contact (a unused icloud email alias) that was not entered in my address book. After the subscribe i entered the email address to my address book and it still works fine.
