Playing podcasts on more than 1x speed - used to work and now it doesn't anymore

I can't play any podcasts or audio files on iTunes U on more than 1x speed. The button on the bottom right corner in iTunes U doesn't work for me, and it used to work before I upgraded to the iOS7 software. Is anyone else having this issue? I redownloaded iTunes U and restarted my iPad as well. If you know how to fix this issue, please let me know! Thanks.
