Need to upload my Windows Media Player library to iTunes from MS laptop?

Family has always been MS (both PC's and laptops). Daughter just bought an iPhone today. I have family music library on my laptop. Couldn't upload to her iPhone unless I downloaded iTunes. Need to move our entire music library over to iTunes from Windows Media Player. How do I upload? Can't figure it out. First Apple app...hope it's worth all this....thanks for help.
