I have a MacBook Pro 15' mid 2012 model. I am not able to share the internet on my device through wi-fi (I was able to do this before, using the same settings). How do I diagnose whether it is a hardware problem or is it something else?

I am connected to the internet through a LAN connection.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9), mid 2012 model 15'
