my Key Chain verification phone number shows wrongly

I tried to activate the Key Chain functionality by going to Settings -> iCloud -> KeyChain.

Then I first had to "Approve with Security Code" -> Entered the iCloud Settings Code (4 digit number correctly) and then comes Verification Code. Says I should Enter the verification code sent to +1 ______________44. It ends with the correct number of my SIM card, however the country code shows +1 and not +91 for India.

So I do not get any verification code and I am stuck. Can anyone help why this is happening.
