Trouble Manually Choosing Library on New Drive - Nothing Appears

This should have been a simple process, and I've done it before, but I have run into a snag and cannot get out!

First, I have 10.9 (Mavericks) and a 2012 MacBook Air -- I wanted to move my iTunes library onto a little 64GB SDXC card I have.

1.) I copied the entire iTunes folder from my main drive onto the memory stick

2.) I hit alt/option + iTunes and "Choose Library..."

3.) Selected the new iTunes folder from the memory stick AND...

4.) Nothing. No playlists, no movies, no play counts.... It's a wasteland.

I immedietely tried quit out and tried to revert the library back to the original folder on the SSD but it still opens to a blank iTunes. HELP!!!!! 😕
